Legal
Education
I have a strong interest in legal education and in particular legal ethics. In New Zealand the foundations for legal ethics are contained in the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006 and the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Lawyers: Conduct and Client Care) Rules 2008.

Course for university students on legal ethics
Since semester one 2022 I have taught LAW458 Legal Ethics at the University of Auckland. This course is compulsory for all law students who want to apply for admission to the bar after they graduate.

Conference presentations for lawyers on legal ethics
I'm scheduled to deliver a presentation on legal ethics at the Pacifica Congress 2023 in Hobart, Australia from 31 August - 2 September. Pacifica Congress 2023 looks at innovative ideas to improve the practice of family law, and the lives of children and their families. Pacifica Congress members include judicial officers, practitioners, researchers, teachers, social scientists, mediators, and policy makers in the Pacific region.

Seminars for lawyers on professional development
I am currently planning various seminars for lawyers who are in the early stages of considering whether to transition from being an employed lawyer at a law firm to a self-employed barrister in sole practice. I made this transition in 2020 at the age of 35 and would like to support others to do the same, particularly those in their 30s. If you'd like to express interest in attending please email me. Further detail will be provided shortly.
