This is my open letter to the NZ Law Society reporting the remarks made by Graeme Todd of Todd and Walker Law. The letter asks the NZ Law Society to consider adopting a process for handling complaints where the actions of the lawyer do not warrant a formal investigation by a standards committee but do warrant some investigation and if substantiated, repercussions. I think where we draw the line in terms of what is and isn't acceptable behaviour for lawyers is an important discussion that needs to take place. This is my simply my contribution to that wider discussion.
